he was 13 years old and
carrying wounds no child
should bear. At a very young
age, she had already decided there was no future
worth staying for. Samay* had survived repeated abuse at the hands
of a rela琀椀ve, someone who should
have protected her. When she 昀椀nally spoke up, she was met with
silence. Shame se琀琀led over her like
a sentence. With a baby growing
inside her and no safe place to go,
she saw only two op琀椀ons: 昀氀ee her
village forever, or end her life.

community. Today, Mother’s Heart
is led by a team of Cambodians,
with deep roots in their communi琀椀es, working across Ba琀琀ambang
and Phnom Penh in Cambodia: two
very di昀昀erent loca琀椀ons, but with
the same heartbreaking need. For
15 years, we have served as the
昀椀rst, and s琀椀ll the only, holis琀椀c crisis
pregnancy support programme of
its kind in Cambodia.
Then, Mother’s Heart found her.
We exist to be the hands and feet
of Jesus: to love without condi琀椀on, stand without judgment, and
walk alongside women and girls
