facing one of the most vulnerable
moments of their lives. Those who
are poor, o昀琀en very young, alone in
ways that are hard to describe. We
o昀昀er a circle of care: crisis pregnancy counselling and specialised
counselling, maternal health and
midwifery care, and prac琀椀cal support to help them 昀椀nd their footing and rebuild their lives. Medical
Mission Network walks with us in
this work, suppor琀椀ng the health
and medical components of the
programme.
Reflections of 2025
Last year, we supported 154 women and girls. Here is some of what
that looked like.
In 2025, our team welcomed 33
new women and girls into the programme. Every single one, a昀琀er
dedicated counselling and support,
chose to parent her baby.
Thirty-昀椀ve healthy babies were
delivered safely, bringing the total number of children in our programme to 151; we have immunised 75 toddlers; not a single
child is severely underweight; 139
mothers now hold a government
Poor ID Card, giving them and their
families access to healthcare and
social services they could never
have navigated alone.
Of those we support, 98% of the
mothers report restored rela琀椀onships with their families. It is
perhaps why 143 of the 151 children are being raised by their own
mothers or within the extended family (kinship care). We have
seen 54 women 昀椀nd employment;
13 launched small businesses. On
top of this, 23 families have closed
their cases, standing on their own,
and 29 more are in the 昀椀nal stages
towards independence (transi琀椀oning). We are proud of every single
one of them.
Challenges
Of the mothers we support 42%
are under the age of 18. We are
increasingly seeing children raising
