Personal care and follow-up: Each delivery is accompanied by listening, encouragement,
prayer, and invita琀椀ons to wider
peace and discipleship programs in
the Al Shabiba Risala Peace Centre
in the community of Bourj Hammoud.
5.
Embedding learning into
Ministry: Through our support
(Seek Peace) we have enabled the
project to measure transforma琀椀on
beyond medical distribu琀椀on by
tracking health outcomes to show
tangible health value. Also, measuring rela琀椀onal outcomes has enhanced trust, a sense of dignity and
has helped to reduce feelings of
isola琀椀on amongst the bene昀椀ciaries
of this ini琀椀a琀椀ve.
6.
Par琀椀cipatory peacebuilding: co-design with support of Seek
Peace has deepened the involvement of the bene昀椀ciary families
in iden琀椀fying real needs and fair
selec琀椀on criteria that shaped the
distribu琀椀on processes. Those who
are selected for support emerge as
partners in this process, championed to advocate for their holis琀椀c
health and not passive recipients
of aid. Furthermore, this deepened process of involvement has
served to provide entry points for
rela琀椀onship building and reconcilia琀椀on between people groups,
religious iden琀椀琀椀es, genders and
genera琀椀onal divides within this local
community.
Tools/methods used:
•
Medical records and prescrip琀椀ons for accountability.
•
Home visits for rela琀椀onal
care, emo琀椀onal support, and invita琀椀on/connec琀椀on to the wider
ini琀椀a琀椀ves of the Al Shabiba Risala
Peace Centre
•
Monitoring and evalua琀椀on
tools (developed with Seek Peace)
to track bene昀椀ciaries, medica琀椀ons,
and social impact.
•
Seek Peace facilitated a
Theory of Change process with Al
Shabiba Risala, helping them develop detailed project plans for their
various peacebuilding, discipleship,
and medical mission projects. This
ensured all ac琀椀vi琀椀es aligned with
their vision: building peace through
the witness of Christ’s love. The
medical missions, in par琀椀cular, were
strategically integrated to provide
prac琀椀cal love and build trust with
families, encouraging their engagement in Al Shabiba’s other projects
at their Peace Centre.
